Its Spring Cleaning Time!

Hi everyone,

This is my 1st time blogging, hoped that my writing can interest the readers, haha (:

Now I shall officially begin my blog:

I reached the TOUCH center at around 10am and what a coincidence! I saw Zhen Xiu, Chen Hua and Kai Sheng helping some of the elderly who had just done their morning shopping. Then, I was asked by Zhen Xiu to take Kam Po back to her house. Kam Po had difficulty in walking and she has to rely on her pushing trolley to walk, so I became her right hand man throughout the journey back to her house. So under my excellent escort, Kam Po reached her house safe and sound.

Then, I was put in the “Hokkien” group and assigned to go to 3 elderly houses. Firstly, we went to Mdm Lim’s house and visited her. Once we stepped in, we discovered that the decorations that were put up last week had dropped down! Mdm Lim pasted the dropped decorations by the wall and it looked nice as before. As it is near Chinese New year, we did some spring cleaning for her. I volunteered to wash her toilet and the rest did other cleaning and decoration stuffs. It was a hot weather; I was soaked with my sweat and water as I cleaned the toilet. I took almost 40 mins to clean the entire small toilet! Then we helped her to put more decorations to her house and made her house filled with Chinese New Year aura!

Next, we went to Mdm Tan house. Mdm Tan was a very cheerful person, she always laughs when she is talking. The decorations that were put up last week did not survived and were pasted on the wall just like what Mdm Lim did. What a déjà Vu! Same as the 1st visit, we offered our help to do spring cleaning but Mdm Tan only wanted us to do minor cleaning. Nevertheless, my group still helped her to spring cleaning the house. As usual, I cleaned the toilet again (I think my fate is sealed as toilet cleaner) but this time round with the help from Darren. We cleaned the walls, higher pipes and thorough cleaning of anything that we can clean. Lastly, all my members helped to put more decoration stuffs for her and that concluded our 2nd visit.

Last but not least, I went to Mdm Ho’s house with my “Hokkien” group. As expected, one of the decorations fell and Mdm Ho pasted it on her cardboard. This time round, we do not have super thorough spring cleaning as Mdm Ho requested us to just sweep and mop the floor. The cleaning was done very quickly and the rest of the time was chit-chatting session with Mdm Ho. She showed us her new watch which was bought from her god-daughter and everyone except Chen Hua (who was teasing her) felt that it was a nice watch. Mdm Ho wears it even though she was at home; we can tell that she really like the watch very much. Mdm Ho also mentioned that she received red packet from the government and wanted to treat us to a meal but we rejected it. Throughout the conversation with her, she kept repeating the thoughts of treating us a meal and we keep rejecting her. What really funny is that she said we are bad guys as we rejected her offer, haha(:

Time really flies; it was almost 2pm when we had completed all our visits to the 3 elderly. I had a very meaningful visit very time although it may be very tiring. I bet that every other volunteer also felt the same way as I. Next visit will be the TOUCH CNY celebration and I really looked forward to it. See ya then!
