30th Feb Visit + Lantern Making

My conscience has finally gotten the better of me and here I am blogging for the first time even though I'm the one asking people to blog after every visit.

First up was Mdm Tan's place. The guys did the basic household chores first while the two girls started on the lanterns.

After we were done with the household chores, we joined the girls in making the lanterns (or at least we tried).

And finally, our first lantern! Mdm Tan looks happy enough!

Next, we proceeded to Mdm Lim Chuay's place where we painstakingly cleaned her many many chairs. I forgot to take a photo of it, but there were really a lot. Just ask Ken!

Next up was Mdm Chong's place. We mainly helped her to clean her windows and organize all her "treasures". Next time we want to play 'Pass the Parcel' just grab one item from her house. Her things are wrapped with so many layers, I think it's gonna save the programmers a lot of time preparing a new parcel.

Last but not least, we visited Mdm Ho. Again, we did the usual cleaning up and also chatted with her.

On the whole, I feel the lantern making was a very good initiative and is something that we can definitely continue in the years ahead. This year was the first time and things were perhaps a little rush so we didn't actually meet the aim of making lanterns WITH the elderly but at the very least, we made lanterns FOR them and there's still next year to improve!
